Book Discussion Livestream: The Women Behind the Door by Roddy Doyle (Finding Our Voices) In-Person

Join Booker Prize-winning author Roddy Doyle for an in-person livestream of a virtual book discussion of The Women Behind the Door.  This book discussion is hosted and sponsored by Finding Our Voices and is a part of their book club series.

Roddy Doyle will be joining the discussion over Zoom from Ireland to talk about his brilliant trilogy on Paula Spencer–mother, grandmother, widow, addict, survivor–starting with 1996’s The Women Who Walked Into Doors, then to Paula Spencer, and last year’s The Women Behind the Door. This latest book is a devastating and spot-on examination of domestic abuse’s impact on the mother and daughter relationship.

Roddy Doyle is a Booker Prize winner and the author of ten acclaimed novels, including The CommitmentsThe VanPaddy Clarke Ha Ha HaThe Woman Who Walked Into DoorsA Star Called HenryThe Guts, and Love, as well as several works for children and young adults including the Rover novels. 

You do not have to be part of the book club to join this livestream event! This program is free and open to all. Finding Our Voices is the grassroots nonprofit breaking the silence of domestic abuse across Maine, including such sister-support as Get Out Stay Out financial assistance, access to donated dental care, and online support groups.
